History of the department

History of the department: From September 2016 to the present, the Department of Oncology is headed by a doctor of medical sciences, an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an oncologist of the highest category, Kaidarova Dilyara Radikovna.

The main staff of the department consists of 3 professors, 8 associate professors, 2 assistants. 2 PhD doctoral students are working on dissertations at the department.

The department has 2 main clinical bases, which are the leading large multidisciplinary clinics: the Kazakh Research Institute of Oncology and Radiology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Almaty Cancer Center of the Health Department of Almaty city.

The department was and remains one of the leading methodological and practical training centers for oncology doctors, interns, specializing in “Surgery”, “Obstetrics and Gynecology”, “General Practitioner”. The department is working on the formation of a responsible and competent intern doctor, strengthening the practical orientation of the educational process and self-education of interns, developing their clinical skills. The Department of Oncology is the training place for a large number of residents in the specialty “Oncology” and “Radiation Therapy”.

Employees of the department are constantly improving their professional competence, studying both clinical specialties and pedagogical skills.
